Beautiful Life and Style

Post Holiday ho hum.

So I don’t know what it is about my personality- but I love celebrating holidays. Every one that comes by I tell my boyfriend “_______ is my FAVORITE holiday”. They each bring something special to look forward to and while I definitely subscribe to the “you don’t need a holiday to share your love” mentality- it certainly doesn’t hurt to join in the fun. So it is no surprise that the day after I usually oversleep, feel depressed and tired all day and just want to curl up under a blanket and reflect on how fabulous the day before was.

I don’t mean to brag- but my boyfriend was especially romantic this year planning dinner at Blue Ginger in Wellesley- the fabulous East-meets-West restaurant of Ming Tsai. It was a real treat and completely unexpected- I mean for a week he told me he was deciding between Chilis and 99… turns out he was planning, for over a month, a trip to one of the top restaurants in the country! Not only did we have the most fabulous meal (Foie Gras Shumai or Pear Ginger Sorbet anyone?) but we got to MEET the man himself- who had just jetted in from serving a V-day luncheon to 200 VIPs in Washington including Barack, Hillary, Joe, and the vice President of China (no big deal or anything). The experience was everything I love about holidays- surprises, love and food.

But I digress….

After all of this, it suffices to say that today’s leftover pizza lunch was a real let down. Thankfully I spent some time browsing pinterest images for the best ones to lift my spirits: some beautiful architecture in the snow- I mean, what is better than mixing a clean lined, modern building with a natural, organic setting? OK OK… a holiday.
