Beautiful Life and Style

Destination Uluwatu

It is always a little painful returning to work on a sunny, summery Monday. Like WHY can’t I just sit at the pool and never return to work? Sadly, I haven’t figured out how to grow a money tree, so today I thought I would transport us all around the world via some lovely pictures of the Alila Villas in Uluwatu- Bali, for those of you who are just as geographically challenged as I am ;) On a cliff overlooking the ocean, this hotel seems to have it all…

surfs up!

The first thing that struck me about this resort is the architecture. Modern, clean lines and a successful relationship between indoor and outdoor space- connecting you with the AMAZING environment around you…

The hotel has two restaurants, one serving contemporary Western fare mixed with local ingredients, and the other offering traditional Indonesian Balinese fare. Every month, on the full moon they even have a special dinner- outdoor dining overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Like most luxury resorts in remote locations, Alila Villas advertises a true commitment to the environment and sustainable tourism. Some of the features are use of local building materials and water conservation through rainwater harvesting. I hope this is a trend that continues around the world. You don’t need to sacrifice luxury or design to have a smaller carbon footprint. :)

small details around every corner

I don’t even want to know what the rooms cost because I’ll like to keep the illusion in my mind that I can afford to visit there someday. At least it is inspiration to keep on working!

yes please!
