Summer is sadly winding down, but this means it’s harvest season- and the availability of fresh, local organic produce is growing everyday. It’s a great excuse to try a new recipe or use an ingredient you’ve never even seen before (sunchokes? what ARE those?) While I’m always up for making up recipes on the fly, sometimes its best to leave the creativity to the experts. Which is why an arsenal of quality cookbooks is SO important. In our family, cookbooks are treated like treasures, each one is a memory a shared meal, a holiday tradition. So I’ve amassed a collection here of some of my favorites. They all highlight seasonal recipes and a locavore approach to eating. Are there any of your favorites I”m missing?
